SHIP MAINTENANCE WORKS
Hull maintenance
  • Cleaning and painting the vessel's hull to remove marine growth and protect against corrosion.
  • Inspection and repair of hull damages such as cracks, dents, or structural damage.
  • Maintenance of the impressed current cathodic protection system (if installed) or replacement of consumable anodes.
  • Measuring the clearances of the tail shaft and rudder. Replacing tail shaft seals as necessary.
Maintenance of the propeller rudder system.
Maintenance of machinery and systems
  • Maintenance and major repairs of engines, generators, and auxiliary machinery; including control and automation systems, to ensure efficient and safe operation.
  • Implementation of necessary software updates.
  • Cleaning and inspection of auxiliary systems.
  • Replacement of leaking pipes, pumps, and addressing clogs in pipes and filters that may impede flow rates and impact proper operation during use.
Maintenance of electrical systems
  • Inspection, maintenance, and recalibration of electrical systems, including circuit breakers, wiring, switches, and control panels.
  • Replacement or repair of damaged or faulty electrical components.
Maintenance of communication equipment
  • Testing, software updates, and calibration of navigation instruments, such as GPS, LRIT, AIS, radars, gyrocompasses, and echo sounders, as well as other navigational aids.
  • Ensuring the functionality of communication equipment, such as GMDSS radio stations, EPIRB, SART, and satellite communication systems.
  • Software and cargo monitoring systems should be checked for necessary updates or upgrades.
Maintenance of safety equipment
  • Inspection and maintenance of life rafts, lifeboats, and their launching devices; survival suits, life jackets, fire extinguishers, and other safety equipment.
  • Testing fire detection systems and stationary firefighting systems.
Maintenance of decks and superstructures
  • Cleaning, descaling, and painting of the vessel’s deck and superstructure to prevent corrosion.
  • Replacement or repair of damaged deck components, such as guardrails; pipes and valves; cable trays, lighting and control systems; winches, capstans, and their associated mooring equipment; or cargo and/or provisions cranes.
  • Pressure testing of deck pipes.
  • Testing brake systems of winches and capstans.
  • Load testing of cranes.

  • Maintaining cleanliness in living quarters, sewage systems, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems, as well as common areas.
  • Repairing or restoring interior fixtures and furniture that are excessively worn due to daily use.
Compliance with environmental regulations
  • Managing waste disposal and preventing pollution, as well as the disposal of hazardous materials in accordance with environmental standards.
  • Upgrading systems to meet current regulatory requirements.
  • Maintenance of ballast water treatment systems and exhaust gas cleaning systems.
